Backpack Program
The West Rusk Backpack Program is a community-supported initiative designed to help students in need by providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare food for weekends and holidays when school meals are unavailable. This program ensures that no child goes hungry outside of school hours and supports their well-being so they can focus on learning and growing.
Thanks to partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and donations, backpacks filled with food essentials are discreetly distributed to participating students each week. The program reflects our district’s commitment to caring for our students and fostering a supportive community where every child has the resources they need to succeed.
For more information on how to support or participate in the program, please contact the district office.
